Apart from that the H8 portable recorder also provides a total of 12 track simultaneous recording facilities as well. You get four inputs for your microphones and two XLR/TRS combined connectors. The Phantom power for four main XLR inputs is +12/+24/+48V.

For the remote, you get ZOOM BTA-1 as well as another wireless adapter for the recorder. There is also a USB facility which you can use for an audio interface, mass storage and also can connect to your guitar. Also, operation utilizing the USB bus power is possible in the recorder.

In terms of recording facilities, you can use cards supporting SD/SDHC/SDXC specifications easily. The multitrack mode provides specifications of 44.1/48/96 kHz, 16/24-bit, 12-in/2-out also the stereo mix mode provides specifications of 44.1/48 kHz, 24-bit, 2-in/2-out.

It comes with a chromatic, guitar, bass, open A, open D, open, open G, DADGAD inbuilt tuner as well. There is a built-in speaker of 400 mW 8Ω mono speaker.

It comes with a 2.4″ full-colour touchscreen LCD display thus making it extremely user friendly for dark recordings as well. You do not need to worry about touching anything or hampering the settings while recording in dark environments and no requirement for the external light source to see the buttons or screen as well.

The battery life of the H8 recorder is also quite impressive, which enables you to work rigorously with the recorder. But it solely depends on your operations. It comes with 4 AA batteries with AC adapter (ZOOM AD-17): DC 5 V/1AUSB bus power.

The weight of the recorder is 130 gm which is a decent weight and good enough for you to use it in outdoor recordings without hurting your hands and making them feel tired within a short span of time.

While you use a USB cable for recharging your recorder, you cannot connect your audio interface, SD card readers and also your guitar lab connection simultaneously. Hence you have to leave the device alone while charging. The external dimensions of the recorder are 116.4 mm (W) × 163.3 mm (D) × 48.6 mm (H).
